Royal Oak Fun Day

It rained on Saturday, it rained on Monday, but on Sunday 17th September the weather smiled on the Royal Oak Fun Day in aid of St. Andrews Hospice Childrens Unit.

The ever outgoing Dave Parnham took to the streets in a bath tub raising money through a street collection.

While back at the pub people looked over the variety of stalls and games on offer.

The kids had loads of fun on the bouncey castle, which was a great way for parents to have a bit of a break. Then as 3:30 approached the crowds started to move inside the pub to witness something akin to one of those Japenese torture games.

Ian Gunn, who some people have said has more hair than sense, decided to have most of it removed in aid of the charity. Shaving would be bad enough but he decided to have his legs, chest and back waxed!!!
On the right you can see him at the start of the process, and just to prove that he managed to survive the ordeal, here he is, smooth as a babies bottom and very pink indeed.
All in all it was a great day with entertainment, a raffle and an auction going on well into the evening.
